Questions
Frequently Asked Questions
What happens during my first chiropractic appointment?
You'll review your health history, discuss your symptoms, and have a physical examination. X-rays are taken only if clinically appropriate. Dr. Homsey then explains his findings and options before any treatment begins.
What is spinal decompression therapy?
A non-surgical treatment that uses a computer-controlled table to gently stretch and relax the spine in cycles, aiming to reduce pressure on discs and nerves.
Is spinal decompression appropriate for everyone?
No. Certain conditions — such as spinal fusion, fractures, advanced osteoporosis, or pregnancy — may rule it out. An evaluation determines candidacy.
Can chiropractic care help with neck or lower back pain?
Many people with mechanical neck or back pain benefit from chiropractic care. Your exam will show whether it's a good fit for your situation.
Should I seek evaluation after an automobile accident?
It's a good idea, since some injuries show symptoms later. If you have severe pain, numbness, or head injury, go to an emergency room first.
When might digital X-rays be necessary?
When your history or exam suggests imaging will change your care — for example after trauma or with persistent, unexplained pain.
How many appointments might I need?
It depends on your condition and how you respond. Dr. Homsey will discuss a recommended plan and reassess as you progress.
What should I bring to my first visit?
A photo ID, insurance card, a list of medications, any previous imaging or reports, and accident or claim information if applicable.
