What it is
Even low-speed collisions can strain the neck and back. Symptoms sometimes appear hours or days later, so a prompt evaluation is wise.
Conditions it may help with
- Whiplash
- Neck and back sprain/strain
- Headaches after a collision
- Shoulder and mid-back pain
How evaluation and treatment work
Care begins with a detailed exam and documentation of your injuries. Treatment may include adjustments, soft-tissue therapy, and decompression as appropriate.
What to expect at your appointment
Bring any accident report, claim number, and insurance information. If you have signs of serious injury, go to an emergency room first.
Common questions
Should I be seen if I feel fine?
It is reasonable to get checked, since some soft-tissue injuries show symptoms later.
Some symptoms call for medical evaluation beyond chiropractic care — for example numbness that is spreading, loss of bladder or bowel control, unexplained weight loss, fever with back pain, or pain following serious trauma. If anything in your exam suggests another provider is needed, Dr. Homsey will tell you and help coordinate a referral.
