Massage Therapy

Soft-tissue care to ease tension and support comfortable movement.

What it is

Massage and soft-tissue therapies can play a supportive role in chiropractic care by helping address muscle tension, stiffness, and movement-related discomfort. At Glendale Chiropractic Life Center, treatment recommendations are based on each patient's individual needs and evaluation.

What Is Vibrocussion Therapy?

Vibrocussion Therapy is a form of mechanical percussive therapy that uses rapid, controlled pulses and vibrations applied to muscles and surrounding soft tissues, including fascia.

This technique is used in chiropractic, physical therapy, and sports medicine settings to address muscular tension and support soft-tissue care.

Percussive therapy may help temporarily reduce muscle stiffness, improve flexibility and range of motion, and support muscle relaxation. Results vary depending on the individual and treatment circumstances.

Conditions it may help with

  • Muscle tension and tightness
  • Stiffness after injury
  • Movement-related discomfort
  • Stress-related muscle tension

How does Vibrocussion Therapy work?

Mechanical percussion produces repetitive pressure and vibration in targeted muscle areas. In simple terms, the device delivers rapid, gentle pulses that work into the muscle and surrounding soft tissue — a bit like a focused, rhythmic tap repeated many times per second. This percussive therapy may be used as part of an individualized chiropractic care plan, alongside adjustments and other appropriate treatments, when Dr. Homsey determines it fits your needs.

Potential benefits

  • Reduced feelings of muscle tightness
  • Improved short-term flexibility
  • Temporary relief from muscle stiffness
  • Support for comfortable movement
  • Relaxation of targeted muscle areas
  • Complementary care alongside appropriate chiropractic treatments

These are potential benefits, not guaranteed outcomes. Results vary by individual.

What to expect at your appointment

Dr. Homsey first evaluates your symptoms and determines whether this type of soft-tissue therapy is appropriate for you. If it is, mechanical percussion may be applied to targeted muscle areas using specialized equipment. Treatment intensity, duration, and suitability depend on your individual circumstances, and your comfort is checked throughout.

Common questions

Some symptoms call for medical evaluation beyond chiropractic care — for example numbness that is spreading, loss of bladder or bowel control, unexplained weight loss, fever with back pain, or pain following serious trauma. If anything in your exam suggests another provider is needed, Dr. Homsey will tell you and help coordinate a referral.
