What it is
Cold laser (low-level laser) therapy uses specific wavelengths of light applied to the skin. It is used as a supportive therapy alongside other care. (Availability PENDING confirmation.)
Conditions it may help with
- Soft-tissue discomfort
- Joint pain
- Supportive care for injuries
How evaluation and treatment work
A handheld device is held over the treatment area for several minutes. It is non-invasive and does not produce heat.
What to expect at your appointment
Most people feel little or nothing during treatment. It is typically combined with other care rather than used alone.
Common questions
Is cold laser safe?
It is generally well tolerated; it is not used over the eyes, certain cancers, or during pregnancy over the abdomen.
Some symptoms call for medical evaluation beyond chiropractic care — for example numbness that is spreading, loss of bladder or bowel control, unexplained weight loss, fever with back pain, or pain following serious trauma. If anything in your exam suggests another provider is needed, Dr. Homsey will tell you and help coordinate a referral.
