What it is
Lower back pain is one of the most common reasons people visit a chiropractor. Causes range from muscle strain to joint and disc problems.
Conditions it may help with
- Acute back strain
- Chronic low back pain
- Disc bulges or herniations
- Pain after lifting
- Pain with sitting or standing
How evaluation and treatment work
Treatment may combine adjustments, spinal decompression, therapeutic modalities, and simple exercises to support recovery.
What to expect at your appointment
Expect a thorough exam, a clear explanation of what is likely causing your pain, and a discussion of options before treatment begins.
Common questions
Should I rest or stay active?
For most mechanical back pain, gentle activity is encouraged. You will get specific guidance after your exam.
Some symptoms call for medical evaluation beyond chiropractic care — for example numbness that is spreading, loss of bladder or bowel control, unexplained weight loss, fever with back pain, or pain following serious trauma. If anything in your exam suggests another provider is needed, Dr. Homsey will tell you and help coordinate a referral.
